Mike Marshall

 

Mike Marshall

Mike served in the U.S. Army from 1960 – 1962 during which time he was honored to serve as a guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery. After leaving the service he attended the University of Georgia (“UGA”) where he graduated in 1966 with a BBA in Finance. Mike has had a long and diverse career in various fields of business, including investment banking, telecommunications, and real estate.

He is currently chairman of Georgia Capital, LLC, an Atlanta based real estate investment company. Mike’s community involvement over the years have included serving on several boards, including the UGA Foundation Board of Trustees, the Metro Atlanta YMCA, and the Peachtree Presbyterian Church Board of Elders.

Mike and his wife, Carol, have been married for fifty two years. They have four grown children and eleven grandchildren, two of whom currently attend UGA.

Whit Marshall

 

Whit Marshall

Whit graduated from the University of Georgia (“UGA”) in 1995 with a degree in Consumer Economics. He was a four-year letterman as a linebacker on the UGA football team. During his senior season, he was named All SEC and was voted the permanent captain of the team. He spent the next four years in the National Football League (“NFL”) playing for several teams. His last season in the NFL was in 1999, when he played for the Atlanta Falcons. Whit then entered the real estate business, where he spent the next six years involved in commercial real estate brokerage and residential development.

In 2004, Whit became a partner in a real estate development firm and was active in all areas of development, including site acquisition, entitlement, and financing. In 2006, Whit began providing consulting services to Georgia Capital, LLC (“GC”); an Atlanta based real estate investment company. In 2007, he joined GC on a full-time basis. In 2010, Whit capitalized on what he saw as an unprecedented market opportunity: the availability of developed residential lots priced well below replacement value. This opportunity led him to become co-founder of Paran Homes, LLC. Whit resides in Atlanta with his wife, Kacey, and their four children.

Kendall King

 

Kendall King

Kendall graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Economics from the Terry College of Business. He moved to Atlanta after graduation and began working for an appraisal management company called Valuation Management Group (“VMG”). Shortly after meeting Whit Marshall in 2014, he left VMG and began working at Georgia Capital, LLC as an asset manager. He managed a portfolio of assets across the United States.

In 2015, after approximately half of the portfolio had been sold, Kendall joined Paran Homes where he focused on structuring and underwriting various acquisitions as a Financial Analyst. This role eventually led to Kendall becoming the Director of Acquisitions and Dispositions for Paran Homes. As Director, he acquired and sold residential lots and land for the company. Kendall continues to work with Paran Homes in limited capacity but has shifted his focus back to Georgia Capital to pursue opportunities in the build-to-rent sector. He is currently focused on managing the acquisitions team and growing the company’s build-to-rent business development.

Joseph Brasfield

 

Joseph Brasfield

Joseph received his BBA and Master of Accountancy degrees from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia and his MBA from The UCLA Anderson School of Management.

Joseph began his career at Deloitte Tax LLP where he focused on corporate and M&A tax solutions for his clients.  Upon graduating from UCLA, Joseph transitioned to investment banking where he spent ten years at Goldman Sachs, Moelis & Company and Truist Securities primarily helping public and private real estate clients raise capital and execute strategic transactions.

Joseph joined Georgia Capital in 2022 as the Chief Financial Officer.

Chad Slayton

 

Chad Slayton

Chad has over 30 years of experience in the homebuilding industry and spent four years as the Market Director of Construction at American Homes 4 Rent. Chad joined Paran Homes as VP of Construction in Mar 2021 and now serves as the SVP of Operations at Georgia Capital where his focus is on overseeing all land development activities to ensure efficient transition from horizontal to vertical development.

Jane Blair Myers

 

Jane Blair Myers

Jane Blair graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Finance from Terry College of Business. Jane Blair started her real estate career in 2013 working as an Analyst for Turnstone Group, LLC, an Atlanta based investment firm with a national REO portfolio valued at $700M, where she focused on the development, management, and dispositions of the portfolio.

In 2018, she joined St. Bourke, an asset management and development company, as a Director – Portfolio Management. The role eventually led to her becoming the Vice President – Portfolio Management. Jane Blair oversaw the management and development of the portfolio with responsibilities including execution of value-add and disposal strategies, strategic review of asset valuations, and planning and entitlement processes across a variety of markets including Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, and Chicago.

Jane Blair joined Georgia Capital in 2021 as a Director, focusing on land acquisition, underwriting and due diligence of projects.

Jordan Ligtvoet-Williams

 

Jordan Ligtvoet-Williams

Jordan received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at Auburn University, along with a minor in Business.
Jordan began the first four years of his career at Glock, Inc in manufacturing, focusing primarily on process improvement, eventually leaving as Manager of the Surface Treatment department. The next few years he spent working for GGG, a bankruptcy turnaround consultant group, where he served as head of engineering for Custom Ecology, Inc. and later Cox Communications as an Analyst in Enterprise DevSecOps.
He joined Georgia Capital in 2021.

Christian Blatter

 

Christian Blatter

Christian earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Florida State University and a Master of Science in Accountancy from Wake Forest University. He also obtained his CPA license in the state of Georgia.

Christian began his career at Ernst & Young LLP in their assurance practice. After a year, Christian transitioned to investment banking where he spent 4 years at Truist Securities and Houlihan Lokey primarily focused on M&A and capital markets transactions for public and private real estate companies across various sectors.

Lee Couch

 

Lee Couch

Lee graduated from the University of Alabama with a BS in Civil Engineering. Lee began his professional career as a Project Manager for a large grading contractor. He spent his time managing large grading projects in excess of $1 million. These projects were located throughout the Southeast. Thereafter, Lee began working for an electrical testing company where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s operations.

Lee joined Georgia Capital in January 2022 as development manager. He will oversee the company’s land development projects, provide due diligence and entitlement support, and help value engineer various projects throughout the Southeast.

Anne DeLorenzo

 

Anne DeLorenzo

Anne has more than 35 years of administration experience, with the past 15 years focused in the real estate industry. She is the executive assistant to Whit Marshall and currently manages human resources, commercial insurance, compliance safety (OSHA), and day-to-day office tasks for The Paran Companies.

Prior to joining Paran, she held management positions with Monte Hewett Homes as well as State Bank & Trust, now Cadence Bank. She is a member of the Greater Atlanta Homebuilders Association and sits on the Board of Directors of HomeAid Atlanta serving as secretary as well as oversees the Finance Committee.  Anne resides in Alpharetta and is the mother of two children, a daughter, Grace and son Will.

Rachel Hubbard

 

Rachel Hubbard

Rachel graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Accounting and earned a Master of Accountancy from Florida Atlantic University. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia.

Rachel started her career in 2011 at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP in their assurance practice. She has ten years of experience serving both public and private real estate clients, including owners and operators, home builders and developers, and real estate management companies. She was responsible for asset acquisition and business combinations (including purchase price allocations), real estate recorded at fair value, and complex equity and debt arrangements. Rachel also served as a regional Innovation & Technology Leader to increase adoption and implementation of technology driven solutions to enhance audit quality and the overall client experience.

Rachel joined Georgia Capital in 2021 as the VP of Accounting and Finance.

Jack Marshall

 

Jack Marshall

Jack graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Finance from the Terry College of Business. He worked as an intern at Paran Homes throughout college and helped the company with underwriting, due diligence, and land acquisition. Jack joined the Georgia Capital team in May 2022 as an analyst and provides critical support to all facets of the acquisition team as the company looks to expand throughout the southeast.

Adam Nelson

 

Adam Nelson

Adam graduated from the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business in 2014 with degrees in Human Resources Management and Marketing. After graduation, he spent 3 years as Director of Operations for the family baking business. While working in this role he developed an interest in cost accounting and subsequently returned to USC where he received a Master in Accountancy in 2019.

Prior to joining Georgia Capital in 2022, Adam spent 3 years in PricewaterCoopers’ real estate tax group. His focus was primarily on federal and state tax compliance for various private and publicly traded real estate investment firms.

Adam is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Georgia.

Whit Porter

Whit graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Real Estate from the Terry College of Business. Whit began his career in Atlanta as an Analyst for Paran Homes where he focused on underwriting, due diligence, and homebuilding operations. This led Whit into an acquisitions focused role where he helped Paran Homes with site selection, entitlement, and development management. Whit is now a part of the Georgia Capital team where he is involved in all facets of land acquisition and assists the company’s development partners in the horizontal process. Whit continues to add projects to the company’s pipeline and is helping Georgia Capital expand into other markets.

Andrew Stahl

 

Andrew Stahl

Andrew graduated from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia in 2021 with a B.B.A. in Real Estate.  After graduating from Georgia, Andrew returned home to New Orleans to start his career in real estate.  He immersed himself in a variety of real estate sectors among different asset classes including multi-family project management, residential sales, and boutique property management.  Andrew also participated in the summer internship program with Paran Homes, Georgia Capital’s sister company, while still in college.  Joining the Georgia Capital team in September of 2022, Andrew’s primary role is as an acquisitions analyst, with a focus on the Nashville market.  Andrew hopes to bring critical insight and support to the acquisitions team as they expand across the Southeast.

Ryan Steen

 

Ryan Steen

Ryan graduated from the University of North Carolina with a BSBA in Finance from the Kenan-Flagler Business School. Prior to Georgia Capital, Ryan worked for Jamestown, a private equity commercial real estate investment group headquartered in Ponce City Market in Atlanta. Ryan spent over six years in the Asset Management department, working on 10.5M SF total of office, retail, and mixed-use assets across a variety of markets, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Atlanta, South Florida and Pittsburgh. Ryan joined Georgia Capital in 2021 as a Director and is currently focused on Asset Management and Community Strategy. Ryan is also involved with lot development and lot banking financing, acquisitions, and retail investor relations.

Mary Frances Stirling

 

Mary Frances Stirling

Mary Frances joined Georgia Capital in 2022 as General Counsel. She provides in-house legal counsel to Georgia Capital and its affiliated companies. Prior to Georgia Capital, she practiced law at Arnall Golden Gregory, an Atlanta based firm. At AGG, Mary Frances worked on the commercial lending team, where she represented lenders and borrowers in connection with real estate and corporate debt financing transactions. Her experience includes working with clients in connection with real estate term loans, construction loans and land acquisition loans.

Mary Frances has a BS in Business from Georgia Tech and a JD/MBA from Emory University. She is a licensed attorney in the state of Georgia.

Dalton Rogers

 

Dalton Rogers

Dalton graduated from the University of Mississippi’s Patterson School of Accountancy with a BS in Accounting and a Master of Accountancy and Data Analytics. He began his career at Deloitte in their Audit & Assurance practice where he focused on serving both private and publicly traded real estate companies. Dalton joined the Georgia Capital team in January 2024 as a Senior Accountant.

Tameka Fulton

 

Tameka Fulton

Tameka joined Georgia Capital in February of 2024 and has more than 10 years of accounts payable experience. Prior to joining the Georgia Capital team, Tameka held a management position at Shindler Elevator Corporation where she was AP manager, and before she had a stint at Pulte Group as Account Coordinator. Tameka resides in Rockdale County with her two children and enjoys racing cars and playing flag football in her spare time.

Lisa Coblentz

 

Lisa Coblentz

Lisa joined Georgia Capital in January 2024 as the Accounts Payable Manager. She brings more than 25 years’ experience in accounting and finance, with the last 15 years focused on accounts payable. Prior to joining Georgia Capital, Lisa held management positions at Hewlett Packard, Pulte Homes, and Toll Brothers. She resides in Marietta with her husband, 3 children, and 4 grandchildren.
